The Perfect Car Show for You

Attempting to decide what kind of car show you will find the most exciting and satisfying is not always easy, after all, your options are so vast that it will be the easiest thing in the world to get utterly confused and lose track of what’s what, and what you will really like, and of course what will bore you rigid. One way to sort through the myriad choice available is to determine what types of car you are more interested in, this then narrows the field and helps you to pinpoint the suitable shows.

Some of the most popular car show types are antique car shows, and also the street rod and hot rod shows. As they are all different and have different types of cars it’s a good idea to go to a few in your area and find out what they are really about as well as deciding what really hits the spot. If you enjoy and appreciate craftsmanship of cars and really like to see magnificently turned out vintage models then this type of classic show could be perfect for you. However, if you really enjoy the idea of seeing sleek cars that are pure racing machines racing then the classic car / vintage scene might not be for you.

For lovers of speed and adrenaline, street rods and even the hot rod shows tend to be a much better solution and provide a thrilling experience. Usually there are plenty of shows in all categories and seeing the different cars can be fun and exciting. Moreover, there are car shows that are geared to specific models. This is typically more common in high end cars, but there are also shows for low end models which have achieved a cult status amongst enthusiasts. If you are interested in a particular model, check out listings on the internet and of course who could resist going to a show packed with Ferrari supercars?

After you determine the type of car show you are interested in you can begin to look around. If you find a car show that you are not sure, call and ask the event coordinator what types of cars will be present and check out details of the event on the internet (many events now have their own webpages). In general, you should be able to gather enough information before the show to enable avoidance of those which are not of interest, and instead focus on those shows that you find interesting. Feel free to ask questions, and plan your trip and your time at the show.  You will then be much surer of having a great time.

Another way to locate shows with programs which will interest you is to subscribe to a magazine that specializes in the type of car you are interested in, in addition there are many clubs for enthusiasts and these are a great way to find like minded friends to go to shows with as well as being useful information sources.

If you surf the internet and find websites feturing the cars you like then you will probably find that you can sign up for a newsletter (usually free). These newsletters often publish the dates and locations of various types of car shows across the country and even tend to list some international shows which could add a whole new exciting dimension.

Whatever shape your auto passion takes, always take your camera, you can the keep a record of the shows you attend and even start your own blog showcasing the good the bad… and the downright ugly!
