Switch Studebaker

Classic car enthusiasts: The brake lights on my 1959 Studebaker Lark 6 aren’t working…?
Does anyone know, beyond replacing a fuse, any other parts I should be looking at? Someone mentioned a switch near the brake pedal once. Does that sound right? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
If you look on the brake pedal itself under the dash you will see the brake light switch. It is actually attached to the pedal and on most cars a 5 dollar part. I am not sure if parts stores stock it for something that old good luck.
