What is the best after-market satellite-ready, Ipod input option radio for a 2005 Saturn Ion?

I have an XM-ready 2005 Saturn Ion. I am now considering purchasing an aftermarket radio so that I have the option of directly connecting my Ipod to my car stereo (those FM tuner things never work right…ugh). I am also considering switching over from XM to Sirius (gotta love Howard Stern and the merger is taking too long).

I have narrowed my search down to several models, but know very little about after-market stereos because I usually just deal with the stock system. I used Crutchfield.com to help me find models that will fit my car and fit the criteria I want. The models I am looking at are as follows:

Sony CDX-GT410U

Sony CDX-GT81UW

Kenwood KDC-MP535U

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X591

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X791

Does anyone have personal experince or technical advice for models I should consider morestrongly or avoid all together? Am I taking the right track to get a new radio? HELP!

I have used the sony CDX-GT81UW a little bit and was fairly happy with the features on it. The usb feature is definitely nice to have. I would look at something like the pioneer deh-p6900ub as long as you are looking at something at that price range. I like pioneer better then i like sony when it comes to head units. I would also look at some alpine head units. They have the best controls for the ipod and are also very nice units. Also it would be good to go to some stores and actually look at these in person before you purchase one. Just mess with it and see how it looks and how the controls work. If you are not looking at adding on to your system in the future when it comes to adding an amplifier and subs then it may not be necissary to spend that much on a radio. Good Luck!!!!
