Are premium model LCD-TV’s worth it? Specifically, models from the same brand…?
TV shopping is a thorny issue, and of course, technology marches onwards, things get cheaper and better. Let’s pretend I’m shopping for a set around 37-42 inches, which is a decent price/size range these days. Of course, there are big differences in price between smaller brands vs the big players, and between 720p vs 1080p, the whole 120hz thing, etc, but I’ve noticed something even more divided, which has me confused, so I’m wondering if the experts out here can shed some light 
Are TV’s from the same brand, of the same size, and the same resolution, but from a different model range, actually that different, to justify a several hundred dollar difference? I’ve seen a few in person, and most stores have bad sources feeding them, so one can’t really compare “objectively”, but is it just a style factor for the case, or are there real technical benefits for some of the more expensive models (contrast/response time are not really reliable, so I tend to discount that). Thanks!
Actually the NEWEST technology is found in the PREMIUM TV models and can be worthwhile….
For instance, the Motion Flow Technology in SONY makes Hi speed action extremely sharp and stops the blurryness…..
You don’t find that in ALL of the SONY lineup….But in two years, you may find it in all of them…..
So, if you buy NOW instead of Two years from NOW…it’s smart to look at the higher end technology….and then ask what MODELS have the Motion Flow technology in them…
The XBR 4 is Motion Flow….there are some S and V series of models with Motion Flow too…..
So, look for Motion Flow and get the BEST…..
