Pop Up Displays – Straight, Curved Or Custom?

As far as portable, economical exhibition display stands go, a pop up display is one of the best solutions to form an astounding exhibition or trade show display. A pop up display is extremely versatile and can be made in numerous sizes to be used in a restricted space or alternatively fill a large display area. Pop up stands also come in a variety of different models to suit different display needs. The two primary styles that are available have numerous advantages and applications to each.

Straight Pop Up Stands

Straight pop up stands are perfectly suited for back wall displays in exhibition spaces. When utilised like this they can sit out of the way, giving maximum floor space to be utilised for talking to possible clients and customers. Furniture and other display elements such as banner displays also compliment this type of pop up.

These pop ups are also best used when display area is restricted and the exhibition space needs to be used as economically as possible. Trade show furniture or literature displays can be used in the remaining space to make an inviting social environment to draw visitors to your display.

The negative aspects of having a straight stand are that they are less balanced than other models of pop up and need extra stabilising elements to provide the stability that a curved stand benefits from.

Curved Pop Up Displays

Curved stands are the most common model of pop up that most trade show display manufacturers stock. These displays benefit from better stability than straight displays because of their shape and they are also considered a more visually dynamic style of pop up. The curvature of the frame gives the exhibition area it occupies a more enclosed, self contained feel which is favourable when talking to customers as it gives a slightly more private atmosphere.

The negative aspects of a curved stand include the space it encroaches upon when it covers a wide area. The wider a pop up stand is, the more severe the curvature becomes and the more space it needs.

Custom Pop Up Stands

As well as curved and straight pop up displays, custom pop up displays can be manufactured that incorporate both of these models of display. By using adjoining or ‘ghost’ panels, a straight and a curved pop up can be fixed together, almost in a modular style, to create various different shapes that are appropriate for different uses. For example, if you have an exhibition space which is big enough to be divided into three or four sections then a few straight or curved pop ups can be joined together to create a compartmentalised arrangement that will organise your exhibition area effectively.

To summarise, the style and model of the pop up display needed all depends on what it will be used for and the area available for it. As stated, pop up stands are an extremely versatile display solution that will suit many situations and should be considered when exhibiting at any average to large sized trade show space.
