Can I paint my 20″ OEM wheels on my 04 dodge ram?
I really want to make my “chrome clad” rims black. should i try to remove the cladding or just sand and paint the chrome cladding. Please painters, and everybody else help! Here is some pics of what i want to do:

they arent real chrome….they are chrome clad, which means its like a plastic chrome hubcap pressed onto thre rim…it cant be removed, and i was afraid powdercoat oven would melt them. did you see the link of the rims that the dude painted.
If they are true chrome rims, then they cannot be painted unless the chrome plating is stripped from the metal because it is too slick for paint to adhere to it. Even after scuffing it it will probably end up flaking at some point. Now if your rims are polished aluminum and you just think that they are chrome then that can be painted, but there are several steps you must go through. It is kind of a pain in the ass to do it properly.
