i would use the comp for a lot of 3D gaming, music, and video editing.

It’s a pretty powerful platform that does not deserve the slow graphics card. Anything with ddr2 videoram even if it is 512mb is a slow card. Better get a factory overclocked 8600GT w/ ddr3 or a bargain 8600GTS.
But I still believe your platform deserves at least the upcoming 8800GT or the 8800GTS.
Also consider a SATA ll hard drive.
