The right front wheel of 2004 Ford Explorer XLT 4×4 sticks or locks when backing out of a parking space.?
Feels like I have run over something. If I put vehicle in 4×4 high and back out I get noticable noise and resistance. Ford dealer initially said problem was sticking break. After changing breaks dealer said there was no problem that this was a characteristic of this vehicle. I have owned this vehicle since new and this problem is of recent vintage.
is it part time with 4low and 4 high? If so you are NOT suppose to run these on dry payment especially when turning sharp turns. I have a ranger that jumps and slips front wheels if I turn on dry payment if I forgot and left it in 4wd.This is normal..however you may have something different and a problem. I would make sure front brake caliber is not dragging…
