Silverdado is the most aerodynamic Chevrolet tailgate?

I have a 2005 Silverado and am about to buy a top of the cover itself. The tailgate cap stock has a top covering the same and that hangs over the back of the truck a little like a flattened wing, almost. I've been told this is for aerodynamics, but I can not find anything official to back that. Has anyone else heard the same? Can someone explain how does it help? It will be a covered deck lid that eliminates the lip hurt the aerodynamics? (I think the top of the housing benefit. But with my luck, I will end up hurting my gas mileage. Although it may sound ridiculous, I'm not an engineer, or I would not be asking this question.) Thanks.

The "Lip" Aerodynamics is for ….. but for the series "Craftsman Truck Series. You see …… although not" actions "that have to use the hood of shares, the roof, and tailgate. that "the lips" gives more downforce truck …. what actually makes drag …. that hurts mpg. The cover cover will keep air out the back door …. reduction of resistance …. thus increasing mpg. you should get as much as 3 mpg improvement.
