breast pain during breastfeeding?
I've been taking care of my baby since birth, but now my breasts are rock hard and extremely painful .. I tried Nursing this morning and felt like my nipples cut glass. My doctors say it has a wonderful close and I know he is correct fastening but now it's just horribly painful. What should I do or I can do? I know this is normal but how am I supposed to nurse when I'm as eager to mourn?
Sounds like you are congested. Unfortunately, you are congested from time to time until the baby is 6 weeks old. Most of the time super- painful happen very quickly. Take a hot shower, do not face the shower, but let the hot water running down its front. (Allowing hot water breasts to beat constantly, to escape which will cause your body to produce more milk) Try ice packs or wet cloths frozen. This helped me in the painful moments. Express milk before each feeding. It is very hard for the baby to latch on when you are congested. The baby will have to pull over strong, suck harder, and this causes pain in the nipple. Rub breast milk on the nipples after each meal. cure of breast milk:) The best way to extract milk is infant formula to mimic a pumping. The way I've always done was to stay with my thumb just above the top of my nipple and my index finger and middle finger the end of my areola below. I used my index and middle fingers of "the bomb" as the shape of its baby milk pump, mimic the jaw. Do this until the nipple softens a bit and then baby can latch on easier .. making it easier for you! Hope that helps.
