SBF 302 Mustang 5.0 Engine Rebuild Question?

I'm rebuilding a Ford 302, a 87 mustang in the 85k block / pistons. I just installed the front of 4 4 pistons and piston assembly is very difficult to turn. There are new rings and rod / crank bearings installed. The holes have been deglazing and squared for a seal good oil. Before installing the piston to the crank became easier, with only one hand to move. When installing the pistons are all coated with assembly lube and heavy weight oil. The network handle is tightened to 70 ft / lb and rods of 26 ft / lbs. It is normal to be so hard to turn? Yes, by controlling the crank lateral play … is also pretty cool to 30-40 degrees. Perhaps the metal cold enough to close tolerances so it is more strict?

In general, new rings in a newly hatched cylinder is hard to turn. Generally, you will have a bar or a larger foot to turn when the 8 pistons installed. You scored crank side clearance prior to installing the pistons, right?
