I Need A Wet, Green, Quiet, Mysterious Town/Village To Set My Story In. Thanks

How about setting it in or around Dartmoor in Devon?
Or even Castleton in Derbyshire
Dartmoor has the Prison there and Castleton has Peveril Castle
( used by Sir Walter Scott in one of his novels in the ” Waverley ” series.) Also at Castleton are various caves and worked-out mineral mines ( Blue John ), one of which is called- Peak Cavern or ” the Devil’s Arse”, owing to the sound made the wind as it passes through.
These places are fairly isolated, quiet, and have myths, legends and folklore that is easily accessible via google.
They are both very green and very wet ( when it rains! )
