How do I cut the water supply to the house from our welfare?

We are finishing our basement. One of the things we have to do is re-route a small number of pipes in a particular corner. In this corner of the basement, is our bomb – which has well water. We will have to cut the main water supply or pump failure – I'm not sure what. We will move the pump slightly, 6.8 inches so we can plot behind walls him. Then, create a cabinet that will house the pump non-attractive, but allow easy access. We will also replace / re-routing a few meters from the pipes that come directly from the pump housing. They have no experience in the plumbing, so I would appreciate any help available.

The question that comes to mind is: "What kind of pipe is the bomb?" Responses have been talking about welding, turning off the valve, etc, but this is dumb, before knowing what is working. To try to read between the lines, or "assume" what someone means, is asking for trouble. You say you do not know much about plumbing, so what makes you think you can learn something useful from this site? General questions are fine, but this is an important issue if anyone else agrees or not, because they do not care to provide answers and a half, or are vague in their attempts to seem to know how to do something. That will be the ones sitting there with a bomb off, and a flooded basement can, if you do something wrong. Will you come running to his aid, or pay to fix something that broke, you said do not fully understand the whole situation? I suggest calling a local plumber master, and ask him to come to see his project. Ask if they will guide you through the project as supervisor, for a fee, and see if it will help. I do a lot of consulting work for people, and allowing me to be in more places, and helps the client learn the correct form of plumbing, a plumber quailified Master, who is the only person who should ask questions about it.
