why would my car horn start blowing by itself?

I woke this morning to a loud constant noise, and found out it was my 2003 Buick Rendezvous’ horn on a constant blow. The neighbors were thrilled to be waken also.
I started the car and it went down to a dull blow, then I shut it off and went to open the hood and the blowing stopped. What would cause this, and should I drive it to work this morning?

You may have had a short in a wire. Starting the car and jarring it when you opened the hood may have ,temporarily, knocked it back into place. You are probably safe to drive it to work but should have a mechanic check it out as soon as possible.
It could also be a faulty fuse.
